Pickleball paradise found! Spending time with my family at The Villages in Florida and the Jersey Shore, I discovered a vibrant community where people of all ages bond over friendly competition. It’s infectious – pickleball gets you moving, laughing, and connecting in the sunshine. Not just a game, pickleball is a transformative lifestyle experience and maybe a tiny bit addictive too 🙂
My journey to Happy People Pickleball wasn’t always easy. In 2021, I was diagnosed with a tough CDIFF infection from antibiotics. For over 3 years, CDIFF took a toll on my physical and mental health. I couldn’t kick the infection. I also couldn’t exercise, was housebound from the illness, and my hope for healthier days kept dwindling. As a mom to two daughters, focusing on their well-being and making sure they would be strong if I wasn’t around anymore was what kept me going.
2023 was a turning point. I found a new FDA approved medication that helped and I decided to give pickleball a try. At first, all I could manage was playing against the garage door. But slowly, with each swing, my strength returned. Pickleball became my happy place, a way to heal and rediscover myself.
Pickleball not only improved my physical health, but it also helped me rediscover happiness. That’s why I created Happy People Pickleball – to share this joy with others.
Being a homebody during that time, I surprised myself. I learned how to code a website, design graphics, and even picked up watercolor painting. But pickleball was my constant companion.
Today, I’m incredibly grateful for my health, thankful for my family, and happy to have the opportunity to share the joy of pickleball with the world! Here’s to staying happy and healthy on the court!
