As we strive to bring more life balance, or more happiness, to better our life or our health, we can sometimes go to extremes to get results quicker.

6 actionable strategies to start bringing more balance into your life today. Improve your mental health and wellness. Get balanced!

Life balance is found on the middle path and not on one extreme or the other.

Too much, or too little, of anything will not provide balance or be sustainable for the long term.

You can find more life balance in your day through small changes.

Small changes create a cycle of momentum and motivation, both which are needed to be sustainable.

Ahead find 6 little things to help you find more life balance in your day.

“Everyone is trying to accomplish something big not realizing that life is made of little things.”

-Frank A. Clark

1. Challenge Your Thoughts

Identify one of your routines that feels extreme and write that down.

Look at the challenge that you are facing and brainstorm five different ways on how to bring it back to the middle. Keep your mind open and think out of the box. If you can’t think of any solutions, try the “what would you tell your friend” method.

For example, what would you tell your friend who was looking for solutions to that challenge written down?

Sometimes it is easier to advise than problem solve for yourself because when you are advising you look past any personal hurdles to get to a potential solution.

Next, pick one of your ideas and then try one. If it’s not a fit then at least you have four more options to try.

Becoming flexible and more open minded will help flex your problem solving muscle bringing more balance to your day.

2. Morning Mindfulness

Morning Mindfulness - Finding Balance

Start your day on the right foot by dedicating a few minutes to mindfulness.

Find a quiet space, sit comfortably, and focus on your breath. Inhale deeply for a count of four, hold for four, exhale for four, and then pause for another count of four.

This simple practice calms your mind and can bring awareness to as well as set a balanced tone for the day ahead.

3. Walking Meditation

During lunchtime or a break, or even first thing in the morning, opt for a walking meditation.

Find a serene outdoor spot and take slow, deliberate steps.

Focus on the sensation of each foot touching the ground and the rhythm of your breath. This practice not only brings balance to your mind but also connects you with nature, engaging your awareness.

4. Say, It Depends

When asked a question expecting a yes or no answer, respond with it depends.

Thinking through other possibilities will break through the all or nothing mindset and open you up to more possibilities and more balance for you.

5. Digital Detox

In the age of technology, taking breaks from screens is essential.

Set aside specific times to detach from your devices.

During these breaks, engage in activities that nourish your soul, such as playing pickleball, reading a book, taking a nature walk, or enjoying a conversation with a loved one.

Reconnecting with yourself brings awareness and balance.

6. Gratitude Journaling

Place a small blank journal and a pen on your nightstand next to your bed. Allocate a few minutes before bed to jot down three things you’re grateful for that day. As the days go on, you will have a inspiring positive thoughts to reflect back on.

This practice cultivates a sense of balance by shifting your focus towards the positive aspects of your life. Over time, it can lead to a more balanced perspective.

Small consistent changes can bring more balance to your day.

Using these practices, you’re nurturing your mental and emotional equilibrium.

Remember, achieving balance is a journey, and these exercises are stepping stones toward a more happy balanced life.

Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.
